April showers bring May flowers, but April is also that eventful month when SMART releases the latest version of Notebook software ahead of summer install season. Innovative new features enrich the collaborative experience for learners, but how does SMART prioritize which ones make it into the software release?Well, it’s very much a collaboration between our innovative developers and our user community in education. What new feature would make the learning experience more engaging or collaborative? What improvement would make interaction easier? Our developers innovate in consultation and collaboration with educators, visiting real classrooms to validate the efficacy of what they create.
This April we’re proud to release SMART Notebook 15. So what’s new? Read on.
Create game-based activities on the fly
The new Lesson Activity Builder in Notebook 15 makes it easy to create games on the fly with easy-to-use activity templates. Everyone has heard the term gamification, but how can you get started? LAB makes it easy to create game-based activities.
Interactive concept-mapping makes it easier to connect and collaborate
Notebook 15 includes interactive concept-mapping within the Notebook application for the first time. Concept maps are a natural way to connect ideas and collaborate either on a laptop or multi-user SMART Board interactive display. Again, Giancarlo shows how easy it is to spontaneously generate a concept map in Notebook software.

Simplified Notebook support and download pages
In addition to engaging in customer dialog about the software itself, we also asked our user community about the support and download experience. We simplified the website to improve the experience – check out the new software area here. [insert link]
