We love being a part of ISTE each year – the energy, the conversations, the people. It’s a chance to hear amazing speakers, connect with one another, exchange ideas and collaborate. Spotlight Session with Dr. Kecia Ray

First up, we couldn’t be more excited to have Dr. Kecia Ray, ISTE Chair, share research on the interconnection between technology and learning in active learning environments. She’ll discuss the latest trends and research around implementing personalized learning with the emphasis on student-focused active learning environments utilizing interactive technology in this special spotlight session.

Collaboration Across the Globe with Special Needs Students

Sunday, June 26th at 7:00–8:30 pm

SMART Exemplary Educators Staci Gelbaum, Jörgen Holmberg, Brianna Owens, Lotta Ramqvist, Stefan Schwartz and Carla Vieira share how they collaborated across the globe with their special education classes. Philanthropic Engineering! Students, Global Collaboration and Solutions!

Join SMART Exemplary Educator Tracey Winey to hear how students from across the globe work together to find authentic solutions to real-world problems. Come see a sustainable, handheld, 3D printed lantern while learning about other cultures that do not have access to electricity. Learn more here.

Celebrate with us as we launch SMART Learning Suite. It’s software that connects students, teachers and devices to turn lessons into enriching learning experiences. SMART Digital Educators utilize instructional strategies to create rich student learning experiences while incorporating SMART solutions. Join us in the development of lesson plans which integrate SMART Technologies into the facilitation of whole group, small group, and independent practice activities for your classroom.

1:30 pm : “The Fusion of Technology and Learning” – hosted by Teq, a SMART Training Partner

Combine best teaching practices with this overview of the skills needed to build and conduct a lesson with students using SMART amp, part of SMART Learning Suite. The session is provided by Teq’s Director of eLearning, Joseph Sanfilippo, who will also cover the different Professional Development options Teq has to support the effective use of the SMART Learning Suite.
