Edtech Spotlight: SMART’s UK Channel Team cement superhero status at the AV Awards

If you ever want to know what a truly successful team partnership looks like, then simply turn your attention to the amazing people in SMART’s UK Channel Team.

This tight-knit group of eight have worked tirelessly together all year to provide their customers with superior service – and the hard work paid off when they were declared Channel Team of the Year at the recent AV Awards 2020 in the UK. At the head of the team is Channel Director Angela Townsend, who lead the team to victory with the help of a Super Hero-themed entry.

We have an amazing team in the UK who have come together with the common goal of achieving targets and providing exemplary service to the channel, says Townsend. This endorsement at the AV awards, which is a key event in the UK audio visual calendar, was an absolutely fantastic accolade.

This award is indeed a huge validation of the efforts of the Channel Team, as the AV Awards is the benchmark for the highest possible professional standards and best practice, recognising the outstanding achievements of individuals, companies, projects and technology across the AV, events and production sectors.

It’s the biggest and most prestigious night in the industry’s calendar for its absolute independence and transparency – and it’s the only night where 1,400 AV professionals from every AV market sector across the globe come together to network (this year digitally) and celebrate everything that makes this industry great.

Key to the success of the SMART team is the impressive level of support that exists between the team members.

The word that describes the team is family,” says Townsend. “The sum of our togetherness is stronger than our individual parts. And, in true team spirit, we worked together on the creating the entry, in which we pitched each other as Super Heroes.

What does the future hold for Angela and her team? That’s simple.

We will continue to aspire to having the best team in the industry and focussing on customer centricity, connectedness and courage, she says.
